    You did not say whether the shock you are asking about is non-chlorine shock or chlorine shock. If you are asking about non-chlorine shock and the ingredient is monopersulfate or potassium peroxymonosulfate then the answer is Yes.

    The suggested amount is 1 oz. per 500 gallons and it will give you 5 ppm of shock in the water. This should destroy all of the bather waste and organics. Be careful not to use it too often as it can build up in the water and eventually cause a rash. The good rule of thumb is to shock the spa water after each use. When you get out, add 1 oz. of shock or dichlor to the water. Leave the pump on for 10-15 minutes and then turn it off.
