Can anyone recommend Heat Siphon heat pumps for pool heating?
Can anyone Recommend heat pumps in general as a method of heating a pool, as against gas, oil or electric immersion.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Vaughan,

First know which fuel is available and their cost.

Gas has a fast recovery and heat pumps are slow, and have operating condition that you should know for your region.

Heat pumps are very cost effective.

Heat Siphon provides free online analysis of your region in order to properly size your heater. They also compare fuel costs of the various types of heaters. This is done online with a form you submit. In addition they offer titanium heat exchangers to extend the life.

    Thanks Guys,

Here in Cyprus, in the Eastern Mediterranean, we have short mild winters and long hot summers. We are at about 37 degrees South latitude, but I don't know where that might compare with a region in the the US. We just want to extend the swimming season into March/April and October/November. Gas here is propane and relatively expensive to electricity.

I guess heat pumps are less flexible but more cost effective?

    Thanks again.

OK. Who spotted my deliberate mistake? I said 37 degrees SOUTH lat. I meant NORTH lat.

    Is my face red?

    Hello Vaughan,

I had to check which way the water was swirling in the WC and found out you are on the globe around the area of central California.
