I have an above ground aluminum pool that has developed a rust hole about 2 inches in diameter. The hole is about 24 inches above the bottom of the pool, but the liner hasn't torn through yet. Does anyone know how I can fix the hole? Can I just remove part of the liner, cut out the rust hole, paint around it, then rivet a new piece of aluminum over the hole? Do I have to replace the hole section of aluminum? Any ideas?

aluminum doesnt rust. You can fix it the way you mentioned, but I put the material on both sides of the wall.

I would further suggest that after you rivet the new patch in, make sure you use a ton of duct tape along all the edges and over the rivets. You can't use enough tape and you certainly don't want the liner against any sharp edges. Good Luck!
