    I can only add Amen...

    WHAT SENATOR JOHN GLENN SAID

Things that make you think a little:

There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January.
In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the
Month of January. That's just one American city,
About as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq.

When some claim that President Bush shouldn't
Have started this war, state the following:

    A. FDR led
    us into World War II.

    B. Germany never attacked us; Japan did.
    From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost ...
An average of 112,500 per year.

    C. Truman finished that war and started one in Korea.
    North Korea never attacked us.
    From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost ...
An average of 18,334 per year.

    D. John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962.
    Vietnam never attacked us.

    E. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmi

I'm a veteran and I think most of this post is malarkey. Bush is an incompetent who lied to the American people in order to invade Iraq for Haliburton and its oil. Iraq had no connections with Al Qaeda terrorism, until we invaded it, and now Al Qaeda terrorism has centered its activity there and has actually grown as a movement. He threatened North Korea and Iran and then both proceeded to develop a nuclear capability in self-defense, making everyone less safe. He is intellectually dimwitted and lacks the knowledge to lead this country. And so on and so on. Take your small opinion and post it elsewhere.

Hmmm, the last I read, now in August of 2006, we are still at war in Iraq with things escalating. Please explain. Just what have you been told that I haven't? What is the press/whitehouse telling us~not telling us, the people of the USA? Just how is this administration going to eradicate, err, excuse me, eliminate or reduce the ever growing problem of radical terrorists who seem to be in every country on earth?
I am not specifically zoning in on this admin. For years now, this country should or could have been readying for this crisis on oil and high gas prices. Each administration overlooked the looming crisis and should have mandated energy saving vehicles and other energy saving devices. This country is in a sorry state. G.M. for example, in yesterdays paper, introduced the new Camero or similar vehicle. A muscle car. Why??? Why is Japan and other country's far exceeding us on this type of technology?
    Sorry for the outburst.

Why japan? Because fuel prices are far higher there. Look to Europe and the diesels they use there to be our next wave of fuel saving cars.

The camaro is just to keep up w/ retro products coming from other manufacturers. GM's only hope for efficient cars comes from its Korean companies like DAEWOO.

I agree with shegald.  This president is an idiot who can not put a sentence or thought together that is above the fifth grade level if that and make any sense out it.  His father's position got him through college and military schools.  Considering his way with the American-English language  he probably forgot to go to class to learn grammar. My education is none to be proud of but I have a grasp on enunciation.

Almost one year since my last message, hmm, we are still at war. And with the wrong country at that.  We've gotten so deep into this mess it is shameful and embarrassing.  I was on a trip a while back and ended up mingled with a several Europeans on vacation in Canada.  Their thoughts, except for a very young couple that did not get involved with anyone on the trip, were that they were afraid and very concerned as to what we have gotten into and how much this could escalate and what the outcome would be.  No one can get us out of this war and not even the Democrats can come up with a plan that will work.  Will we not learn from history?

Why must we rely on other countries to come up with the better technology?  Why has GM and Ford purchased inventions that would have brought us to the forefront of this technology and then buried it?  The same goes for the utility companies and others.  Why do we promote out high school kids on to higher learning when they have problems with math, English, science, history etc.  Ask a high school or a college student to show you South Dakota or Iowa or Colorado on a map.  Most can not do it.  Our education system is lacking, for want of a better term.  "No child left behind" - indeed.  Hmmm, where did that go?  We have the program but no funds to implement it.  Why?  And why do we appear to be reaching out helping other countries to become better when we can not even help the victims of disasters in this country?  I see no reason for not helping other countries but we cannot help others until we help correct what is deficient in this country.  Yes, and all the promises of help and money and homes for those in Katrina's wake  --  shallow  --  we can't seem to stop stepping on our own feet.  I would bet that if that were Texas or Maine or where ever this "idiot is from thing would have proved different right at the start of a disaster.  I wonder what went wrong . . . . W's father is very intelligent, can speak two or more sentences in a row.  I may not agree with all that he has done but he far outdistances his offspring.

    Just embarrassing.
