Hi out there,
I am building a solar heater for my hot tub, using a separate circulation pump to circulate water through the solar heating panels. I'll be breaking into the hot tub plumbing so that I can use the existing filter. It is a little 25 sq ft Pleatco cartridge filter. Does anyone know what the head loss will be for low flow rates, e.g. 3 gpm?
Also, it appears that only the top part of the spa water goes through the filter and the rest bypasses it through an inlet at the bottom of the spa wall. I have a little Jacuzzi Echo about 10 years old. Is that really the way they work, or do I just have a really cheap model?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Alice
