We use chlorine in the hot tub. While we will be away for 10 days we will not be able to chlorinate the hot tub. Our local store suggested lowering the hot tub temperature during this time, but how will we prevent bacteria, etc. from growing at low temperatures? What have others done?

I would superchlorinate the spa prior to leaving, and turn the heater off.

Doing this you should have enough sanitizer to make it untill you get home.
