What is your experience with how well these systems hold up? In seven years, I have been through three units From sunshine pools. And these units were repaired at least three times each! Yes, they have been wonderful with support--but--

    G'day all,

I can verify that. Out here in Cyprus the water is rock hard and the sun never stops shining.

Watermaids keep on ticking when the others have taken a lickin'.

Want to tell us why Watermaid lasts longer than other salt chlorination systems? Please don't say better made, unless you mean that it has thicker Titanium in the cell or has a method for screening metals out of the water before salt conversion, etc. And is it worth twice the price? For example, would two Ecomatic units at half the price last as long? Thanks.

Both those post were from watermaid guys and not consumers. All Salt Cells will last a long time if maintained properly. Salt Levels are critical and if a cell needs cleaned, make sure is it cleaned.

Watermaid is not better or worse than the others. Most salt system problems are from lack of knowledge and the industry needs more training in that regards. We need to educate dealers and consumers and then we will all see the electrodes last a good bit longer than they do now.
