Who would buy any product from a manufacturer who is incapable of standing up for its reliability. Lack of a reasonable warranty is a sign of an inferior product that is not likely to perform for any reasonable period of time. Toyota and other Japanese auto makers got a good piece of the American market by making reliable automobiles, when Detroit was still figuring out ways to build in obsolescence, that is, poor reliability so that a car would have to be replaced every three years or paid for again through major repair bills.
